Adding Users and DB to 2010

Good Morning,

 

One of our departments is using ACT 2010, 2 individual copies sharing a database. We're considering using it for another department as well which would add 4 more users sharing a different database. 

 

Can anyone suggest the best way to accomplish this? Upgrade to 2012? By 4 individual copies?

The way that ACT! licensing works and the way that offers the best usability (and ROI) from the program is to have a license for each individual using the program.

 

If you do not have any urgent need for any of the features that have been added to 2011 or 2012, you likely can find copies of ACT! 2010 from an ACC or an online source (make sure it is legit).

 

While this may save you both the possible headaches of upgrading your current users to 2012 and likely a bit of money as older versions are generally discounted, the downside is that you are buying an older version which has a shorter horizon for support...

 

Comes down to what you are doing and what you value system is.
