Activity Series for Multiple contacts

I need to add a activity series to a group of contacts.  It seems to work when I select this group via a lookup, and select schedule/activity series, and complete the dialog box.  Problem is, when I go back to a specific contacts activity tab, the scheduled with column isn't filled in with just that contacts name, its populated with all the names I selected in the lookup.  What am I doing wrong?

 

Any help is appreciated

Not sure what you are doing wrong.  I just tried this in version 2010 and had know problems.  Follow these steps:

 

1.  Schedule Menu>Activity Series

2.  Pick your series template and anchor date.

3.  Under the Schedule Activities With ... Click the Contacts, choose Select Contacts

4.  From the Select From drop down choose either the Current Lookup or Groups and select your group.

5.  Use the >> to select the entire lookup or group.

6.  Schedule

I guess it is maybe the way I look at the individual activities.

 

I did exactly what you referenced.  Afterwards, when you go to the individual contact, under actvities, in the Scheduled With column, you don't see the contact name, but the name of the first contact in the selection. 

 

Put another way, you have Company A, Contact A, and Company B, Contact B, if you schedule an Activity series with the method described, if you look under Company B, in the schduled with column you will see Contact A first, not Contact B.

 

Not sure if thats making sense, but...

What version of ACT! are you using?  I did the same thing in 2010 and the Scheduled With is perfect, only one name (the correct name).

I am using Act 2010 Version 12.0.409.0, Hotfix 3

Sage has issued Hot Fix 4 for 2010.  It heals a multitude of sins.  I recommend that you apply the hot fix.  

 

To get HF 4, go to the Welcome Page in ACT! 2010.  Click on "Online Knowledgebase" in the Support and Services.  Click the link to launch the Sage Knowledgebase.  In Search By Keyword enter 25495.  In Search By  choose Answer ID from the dropdown list.  This should display KB Doc # 25495 with instructions and a link for HF4.

 

If this does not solve your problem you should contact either Sage Support or an ACT! Certified Consultant to diagnose it further.
