I use ACT! 2012 and CompanionLink 5 Pro to sync to my Android smartphone. I also apply the David Allen Getting Things Done (GTD) methodology to my task management.
Is there any way to create a custom activity entry form to add a field to handle the GTD Contexts? The "Location" field in the Activity form would work, but without a dropdown list it gets tediious to create entrys. Any posibility to add dropdown dialog to this field?
I do have the Durkin Impact Suite 4.2, but I do not see a way to create a new field in Activity forms. All customization appears to only be available at the Contact level, not activity level.
Thanks,

There isn't a built-in option for customizing the activity form within ACT!, I'm not aware if it can be done using an add-on or not.
While the Location field isn't a drop-down, you may be able to use the Resources field. It can be customized through Schedule > Manage > Resources.

I do not have a "Resources" field under this menu. I have "Activity Series Templates"; "Activity Types"; "Priorities"; and "Events". Possibly 2013 has the "Resources" menu, or maybe you are referencing the 4 I listed?
Customizing Activity Forms, and Undated Activities are the only reason for me to consider useing Outlook as a Contact Manager. All of my undated activities get dated in ACT! far into the future. Say 5 years future on July 1.
It looks like my "@context" GTD field is best entered in the location field. The context is after all a location based sorter in the GTD methedology. Just wish it could have a drop down for convenience.
Thanks

I apologize, I didn't think about you having Sage ACT! Pro... The 'Resources' option is only available in the Premium version; Premium version being more 'team' oriented.

At www.freeactaddons.com we provide a free plugin called Activity ID/Status that automatically adds the ID status of the first scheduled with contact into the activity's location field , provided the location field is empty and ID Status supports dropdowns.
Does that help?

I downloaded and installed. It doesn't add anything added the ID / Status to my Location field when I create after I saved the new activity. I do not know how to add a drop down list to my Location field. No this will not work as my contexts will not always be the same for a contact.
Thanks for the suggestion.
