I seem to have more issues with the Act V20 ./ Office 2016 compatibility.
After opening and processing an email template in Act (email templates are made in an older version of Act and office) I notice that act or office does not remove the temporary file: ~$Normal.dotm. This results in error messages in word saying that norma.dot is in use by another user. restarting Act or restarting any service related to Act does not solve the problem.

Hi Leendert, You may try the following suggestions:
Close all programs, if there a file called ~$Normal.dotm in the templates folder (Set advanced settings to "show hidden files, folders and drives" via Folder Options > View), please delete it and restart Word.
2. Exit Word, rename the Normal.dotm to something like xxx.dotm and see the outcome.
Do not forget to make daily backup of your Act! database and important files (Like PST Outlook files), and additionally place these backup files in a USB drive or External Disk for more security (In case your hard drive is damaged)
