There are some known issues with the calendar integration - my understanding that it is more a matter of Outlook limitations than Act!.
You might try testing using the Demo database and see if you get the results. My guess is that you will not. If it works as expected with another database/demo database, than this shows that the issue is specific to your database file.
I don't beleive that the maintenance routines in ActDiag are able to fix the corruption that the Outlook integration can cause when things go awry.
