I've installed Act2008 with Office2008/XP (Clean install). I've created an ACT database. In Outlook, when I add a contact from email to Act, it doesn't show up in the Act Database. The ACT Database Path in ACT doesn't appear correct, the database name is right but the path is \\.\dbname
I'm assuming there is a problem somewhere but I can find anything that lets be change the database location.
Also, shouldn't I see the Act database as a Contact DB in outlook?

I assume you meant Office 2007 and Windows XP
Have you updated your ACT! to 10.01 or 10.02?
Have you added the ACT! address book to Outlook as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article - http://tinyurl.com/4ekfqh
The ACT! database patch will be the machine name and the path
