I installed Act ver 19 on a new PC. The DB is on that box and shared to one other user.
Starting with Act 2009 on an old box, when the user tries to shut down her PC, it hangs saying Excel is still open, then Excel won't close.
All 25 of my boxes are set up identically. This is the only PC that hangs due to Excel.
It didn't hang before I installed Act.
The old box didn't hang before I installed Act.
Both old and new boxes have the same problem.
The remote user's box doesn't hang when closed.
I re-imaged the old box without Act and it no longer hangs.
So it must be Act causing the hangup.
Has anyone else had the problem and found a workaround?

I would like to know if on the machine that Act is being used with excel at all? (Exporting to excel / using Quotes)
attempting to replicate the issue as soon as i close Excel or once the quote is generated the excel.exe from my processes ends.
As you have reimaged the machine after installing Act! again on the system is the issue happening as potentially could of been an office issue and during the new install of office is not experiencing the issue.

Thanks for looking at this!
Excel is used on the same machine but not with Act! No exporting nor quotes from Act.
She can open Excel 2-3 times before it hangs up the entire PC, and she must reboot.
Then when she tries to turn off her PC, it hangs again.
If she has already rebooted, then not gone back into Excel, it turns off OK.

Well, well! Repairing Office seems to have fixed the problem.
I don't know why I didn't think of that.
But even after you made the suggestion, I figured it wouldn't work.
Thanks again for your suggestion!
