Have you looked at the Windows Event Viewer for additional error message?
Have you tried opening a different database (ex: the demo database, or create a new db)?
As a shot in the dark, since you have Windows 7 - when it does that again: close the application, right click on the ACT! icon > select 'Run as administrator'. Any difference?
- Also try: right click on ACT! icon > select Properties. Click on Compatibility tab > enable Compatibility mode 'XP sp3'. Click OK to close Properties > double click on icon to test. Result?
