Act Upgrade Question

We have a client running Act 2007 and they have lost their installation media for it.  They now want to upgrade to Act 2009.  My question is if we simply purchase the upgrade and not the full version will we be able to reinstall Act 2009 without having the Act 2007 media.  Thanks In Advance.

Re: Act Upgrade Question

The upgrade refers to pricing only, it's the full version for installation.

Re: Act Upgrade Question

Whether you pay full price for it or a discounted upgrade price the ACT software you get is exactly the same, the full version. (It's not like Microsoft where you get Upgrade versions).

After you install it, first open up the Demo database to verify that the software installed OK, then close that one and just click File > Open and point at <Your_ACT2007_Database_Name>.pad file and you will be asked if you want to upgrade this older database and you click yes.

Should automatically update.
