I am running Sage ACT! Pro 2013 on a Windows 7 PC. When I open ACT! the program notifies me that there is a new update available. However when I click in the notification area, an error message tells me that I "do not have permission to download the updates. I must be a Windows Administrator." I am the only one that owns and operates this PC. Grateful if someone can tell me how I might perform the update here. Thank you.

Disable UAC from Control Panel
Rite click your ACT! icon, select Run as Administrator ?
You failed to indicate full version/build of your product - find it in Help / About
Get most recent downloads/updates - http://na.sage.com/Sage-ACT/support/Download-Center

You prob need to visit the download center and get service pak1
My 2013 version is Sage ACT! Premium 2013 Version 22.214.171.124

I've got the same version as you, now that I was able to do the update. Your solution to 'right-click' the program icon and select 'Run as Administrator' did the trick. Thanks for the help.
Do I still really need to turn off UAC in the Control Panel? I've heard that it's not usually advisable to do that. And now that I'm updated to the latest version of ACT!, I have no more issues.
