Act Sync Fun

We have latest version of Act 2008 patched 10.0.3

We have been synching successfully for a while now no problems

Since adding in some 15,000 extra records to a remote database, converting to companies/divisions properly we had a number of issues trying to then synch to the main database

Using the relevant KB articles we rebuilt synch objects and schema - finally after hours and hours it completed a sync only to fail instantly when we retried this

now all other remote users can't synch since the master database has been updated

Having tried all known fixes it is almost as if once you increase a database by a large number of companies/divisions it causes the synch to fall over?

Has anyone else experienced this or got any solutions?

Thanks

Andy

Re: Act Sync Fun

Andy,

What error do you get when trying to sync?  Did you do the maintenance on the main database after the successful 15,000 contact sync?

To be honest, you're best off creating new remotes for you users.  Best practice is to do these large imports on the main database side, rather than the remote side.

Re: Act Sync Fun

its very baffling - we did the same rebuilds, and tried the same things again and it worked

i think the next time we will do imports on the server, however it is nervewracking importing 15,000 records into the master database in case anything went wrong!

Thanks for the reply
