I just got a new computer and it doesn't look like Act Pro V18 Windows 7 is backing up. I thought it was set up to back up automatically on the old machine... but it doesn't seem to be backing up (database or personal files) on this new computer. (this is also my own machine/ not a company/network.)
When I try to set up sAct scheduler, I cannot access the most recently saved pad file or database file. (Old ones show up in the same folder.... but it annoyingly doesn't show the most recent database of personal files.)
I must be doing something wrong.... or is it saving on its own, somewhere else and I don't see the files????
Please help. Thanks!

I'm just guessing here. Not sure how you moved your old data over to your new windows 7 pc?
But here is how I would do it.
On your new pc,
on new pc, deleting your .pad file type and open your .adf file type and it will generate a new .pad file.
Also other option;
Insure you have most recent ACT! Pro 18 stuff;
When ACT! is fully installed on new pc, including most recent service packs and hot fixes/updates
MANUALLY do this from act! download center Reference https://www.act.com/resources/downloads/act-pro-v18
On new pc, Manually Perform a Windows Update
Install Outlook / Office, etc?
On new pc, In ACT!,
MANUALLY Perform a ACT! / File / Restore db/ "Restore AS" using your ACT! backups from old pc as input.
Do same for your Personal file bkps from old pc(Restore Personal Files option).
This may help you Manually manage your Daily ACT! Database and personal files backups
