Act! Pro Version not populating email addresses

I am running ACT! Pro Version 17.2.217.0 and Outlook 2010 on Windows 7.

 

ACT! is no longer populating the email address of the contact when I click on the email icon.

 

I have gone through the email settings again and everything looks fine.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Tom,

 

did you try this, using a normal contact, or with your Act user?  with the act user this is normal, but it should work with any Contact, not a Act! user

Hi, thanks for the response.  Not quite sure what you mean, I have been trying to email from the database from a contact.

 

It does open a MS Outlook email, but no email address from the contact is inserted.

 

This worked before, not sure what I did to cause it to stop.

try to create a new contact, save the contact, and then try again

Hi Tom,

In addition to Ingo's question:
Does this issue occur on any other databases (i.e. the demo DB)?
Do any other users have this issue?

I tried with the demo with the same result. It would not populate the email address field in Outlook.

Do you have any hotfixes or updates applied to Act v17.2? They are shown in Help > About Act.

As Ingo pointed out above, if the contact you are clicking the Email button on, is a user in Act (i.e. your own contact record), then it is normal for no email address will appear in Outlook.

I have the same issue.  I have ACT Pro V18.0 Hot Fix 4 and use MS Outlook 2007 on Windows 10.  I have not used the email feature before so I don't know if there is something I am doing wrong or if there is a problem.  I am just trying to send to 3 people for now  to test it.  If there is anything I can do to help resolve this problem, let me know.

This was a known issue in Act v18.0, which has since been fixed in updates. You can find the updates in our Download Centre: https://www.act.com/resources/downloads/act-pro-v18
The most recent update available for your version at time of writing is Act! Pro v18 SP2 Update.

Please let us know if this resolves your issue.

I updated to the latest maintenance for 18.0 and that fixed it.  Thanks for your help.
