Act! Pro Version, Update 4 and Outlook 365 Calendar Integration

Dear Forum Members,


I am unable to integrate ACT! 21 Contacts and Calendar with Outlook 365. I would be grateful for any advice.


System Information:


  • ACT! Pro Version, Update 4 English (Europe)
  • Microsoft 365 Family
  • Outlook Office 365 outlook.exe c:\program files\microsoft office\root\office16\outlook.exe 4224 8 200 1380 02/11/2020 06:29 16.0.13328.20292 38.17 MB (40,027,944 bytes) 01/11/2020 12:55
  • Lenovo T490s x64-bit 
  • Windows 10 Home, Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041

The Situation:


  • ACT! is installed as an Add-in in Outlook.
  • Emails from Outlook are successfully attached to corresponding ACT! records.
  • If an email cannot find a matching ACT! contact, I am offered the option of creating a new contact in ACT! from Outlook, or attaching the email to a different contact. This works without a problem.




  • I run Outlook synchronization from inside ACT! or from the ACT! Integration Service in the command tray
  • I get the pop-up "Do you want to synchronize ACT! and Outlook now?"
  • I click "Yes" but nothing happens, no contacts or calendar are synchronized.
  • In Synchronization History there are no records under Contacts and Contact_Activity. But there is a log entry under "Activity": It shows Error 1, "Your ACT! username or password is invalid" (Please see attached screenshot)
  • I have repeatedly confirmed that the database, username and password are correct. And anyway, since email is integrating, that indicates that Outlook and ACT! are communicating.
  • I have also double-checked all the Integration Preferences including that the integration is from ACT! to Outlook 365.
