Act! Pro Version 22.214.171.124, Hot Fix 3 looses data in date/time fields - STILL - no surprise - just saying.
I been using v17 pro since it came out and STILL looses data in the date/time fields.
example, this morning i entered new "contact record". clicking the SAVE button many many times as I work with ACT data entry.
Then I entered 5 date/time fields and lost the info in four of those fields.
I always click SAVE before exiting a record that I have made changes to.
Left the contact record, then came back to it and my very important date/time data was gone.
Kind of like ACT!2011 never resolving that issue of disappearing data.
Even More Important than loosing data,
in March I was informed of my community forum promotion from Nickel Super contributor to Nickel Elite Contributor and STILL have not received that recognition. My inquiries into this very important matter not getting any response.

I just wanted to clarify some things:
You say that you are on v17.2 Hot Fix 3. There isn't currently a HF3 for v17.2. Is this what is displayed in Help > About Act?
Are you able to replicate this issue on demand? Does data in the date/time fields get lost every time you create a new contact record and fill in those 5 fields, or only sometimes?

You remember ACT2011? there u go. No sir, I cannot make it happen every time on command.
Just when the gremlin feels like showing up. . Yep my version info came from displaying Help/About.
I am THE MOST "HIT THE SAVE BUTTON act user" there is. Especially before I exit a contact or other record type.
Sometimes I notice the prob when I do stuff and then I go right back to a CONTACT record I recently updated and Poof? Where is my data?
Dad gum important date/time data that I used to help me measure progress. I think the date / times fields may also have same prob in the Opportunities module of ACTv17 pro?
Such as my date and time for phone or on-site job interviews, Telephone interview Complete? On-site interview complete or Pending? etc..
I should probably check my History info when I notice this disappearance of data? Even my Yes/No fields lose data.
When I don't go back into a contact record until a day or so later, it is more difficult for me to remember what was what until I find out the hard way.

I know it's tuff to identify problems when things seem to fail randomly? but there u go... Ever since I have been using v17 pro.

It only happens when I notice it? Or does it? I will report any new findings but this has been a occasional gremlin. Have not been able to determine any obvious user cause. Not easily replicated on demand.
I am currently using Exponenciel calc fields add-on to enter the current date/time by clicking a button.
I will be paying attention to see if I lose any date/time data from that process.
I click the save button probably more than anyone while working.
Note: This was originally an ACT!2011 pro database, then upgraded to ACT!v17 pro.

Sometimes upgrading the video driver or turning off hardware acceleration on the video driver will help this issue.

I did not know my video part of my pc could cause data loss in ACT!?
Considering I am using a dell optiplex 780 re-furb with 8 gig ram. The upside is cost; only $180 for my wind 7 pro 8gig ram pc.
The downside is the bottom of the barrel video cards with little room for upgrade. Currently has 256k video ram? I think that is correct?
Are you saying that could cause this problem?

Yes. Windows does some funny things like let the video driver handle filling in fields on the screen, etc. If you think about it from a gamer's point of view it makes a lot more sense because the hardware they use for driving the screen is extremely fast so they would want that hardware handling the input and the output. You probably have a 256MB card but there is probably a later driver for it than the one that is currently installed. Go to the website of the video card manufacturer and see what the latest driver they have for your card is and if there is a later one install it. If there isn't then try disabling the hardware acceleration on the video card.

My drivers and settings have been correct and current since day 1 with this pc..
The specs show that I can only upgrade my video card to 500 mb and that is still too weak,
So, I'm just going to purchase new pc soon with lots of video ram and then will see how things go from there. Thanks again - Bill

You can pick up video cards for about $50 or so. You might want to look into that in the meantime.
