Act Pro 2011 error message on backup

When I attempt to backup my dB, I get the following error message:

"Incorrect syntax near '\'.

Unclosed quotqtion mar4k after the character string ' ,NOSKIP,

STATS = 10, NOFORMAT',

PRC_MAINT_BACKUPDB:ERROR EXECUTING DATABASE BACKUP STATEMENT

As a result, the backup is canceled.  Don't understand what is wrong.

This is generally seen when the path to the database files contains a special character (ex: apostrophe).  The default location for a database is under the path containing the Windows Username, which can be created with special characters.  The resolution to this issue is to move your database to a new location.  General steps: create a new folder on the C: drive (ex: C:\Act Database) and move the database into the new folder.

The problem is that my user folder has an '. It is Roger's.  So even if I change folders, still have the problem.

Because of the format of your Windows username, you will want to create a new folder on the C: drive (ex: 'C:\Act Database') and move the database to that folder. The database does not have to be located in your username path.
