Act Outlook AddIn

Can someone tell me what the Act Outlook AddIn is used for?

I'm currently running:

Act! Pro Version 19.2.146.0, Update 5

MS Office/Outlook Business 2016

MS Office Pro

all software updated.

I'm currently running into an issue with the Act Outlook AddIn when enabled.

When trying to post items from my MS Word Clipboard into an Outlook email and Act Outlook AddIn is active, the clipboard becomes stuck/frozen. 

If I disable the Act Outlook AddIn, the clipboard becomes unfrozen and works properly.

What do I need the Act Outlook AddIn for?

This is a required component for recording email Histories in Act! from Outlook, amongst other features like Create a Contact and Create an Activity from inbox items.
