Thanks for the prompt reply. I tried option 1 (nothing to do on Click Protected View and disable (uncheck) all boxes in that location). Nothing showed on option 2.

 

All other templates open OK in Outlook. 

 

Both the original file & the copy simply do nothing - shows mail merge progress , then nothing. Or 2could not open macro storage.

 

ALL templates open in word via the actual location except the original & copy of the problematic file. Sometimes they open in work as protected - even though I've unticked all protected view boxes. Or  else I get one of the errors posted (above).

 

Anyway, solved it but copying a file that worked & then pasting the appropriate copy into the new document.

 

Will continue to monitor for "Act.Integration has stopped working" error.

Had only just renamed history queue too!

Just a quick remark:

 

You are obviously having 2 problems:

 

a) with act.outlook.service.exe

b) with act.Integration.exe

 

Besides a more general problem from the past afflicting both "Office Integration" functions, the problems have to be treated and analysed separately.

If the issues are with the Act.Integration.exe (the service that handles contact and calendar sync) - it may be worth taking a look at this KB:

The steps aren't really specific to any error - they're just general repair steps. I'd make sure that Act was installed with full administrative rights, and that your anti-virus/firewall didn't interrupt the installation at any point.

Thanks. Non of those covered my exact error ie.Act.integration has stopped working (nothing else following it). But I did run the MS office quick repair. Let's ee if that helps.

 

I recently reinstalled Act. There wasn't any issue with anti virus but how to do check if it's got full administrative rights?

It's just a case of running the installer with the "Run as Admin" privilege.

If you've tried all the steps in the KB, there's unfortunately not a great deal more I can suggest than that. If you continue to have issues, you could try a different windows user profile on the PC, or try reinstalling Office.

For more specific troubleshooting it's likely we'd need you call us so we can remote onto your PC and take a look at the environment, which would require an active support contract from yourself.

For what it's worth, I feel that all the trouble shooting that is recommended on this thread that I started is just too difficult for me, the Swiftpage targeted customer, to be expected to do.  I just do not have the resources to go through all this troubleshooting to get a piece of software to work as it was represented to me pre-sale.

 

During my first year with ACT, I logged over 160 hours of my personal time to try to get ACT to work, much of that time with Level 2 Technical Support, or higher, being logged into my computer.

 

I tried to be a customer of ACT.  I really did.

 

But, I had to move on.  I just do not get paid to fix all the ACT problems.   And, my blood pressure was too high.

Is that it? ACT isn't working but without a support package you have to put up with it?

 

As I mentioned last time, most of those 'fixes' you offered were not applicable or not possible (eg no disc to copy dlls).

 

You have been very helpful to date but to be left high and dry is not the way a professional software supplier should behave.
