Act! Error message

"The database could not be accessed.  In order to access this database, check your network connection and verify that your database server is available.  It may be necessary to disable any firewall software on your computer or the server"

I am not sure I understand this is not a server base program.

Anybody had the same experience.  Any help welcome Thanks

Re: Act! Error message

Actually it is technically server based. The database itself is controlled by the SQL Server. The SQL server my be local or on a separate server. The first thing to check with that error is to see if the SQL Server instance is running on your system. Click Start and right click on Computer and select Manage. Under services you are looking for the SQL(ACT7).
