Act Backup zip file when unpacked has no data in it....

Hi,

Litle help pls some one.

We have old 2005 act and we when we make a backup from File > Backup > Database, zip file is made fine.

But when we unpack the zip on windows we only see 3 files and no folder. Smiley Sad

When unpacked on a mac, we see C/ directory, but when repacking it back moving to windows pc and trying to

use it in Act again it fails, says DB file is corrupted.

Also unpacked by winrar it shows a folder named C:  .   After repack and move to another pc it is not ok also.

Says DB is corrupted.

Any way to get around this? Or change how backup zip makes the name of this folder not to have C: | C/ ?

I have attached images of issues also.

Thanks!

What are you trying to do? The ACT! database is in a special file and stored in the ZIP file. To access the data you need to do a Resotre As in the ACT! program.

Hi Roy,
Thanks for a replay.
We are trying with ACT! Exporter to make CSV/excel files.

You can't do that directly from the backup file. You need to restore the database to the hard drive using the ACT! program Restore As option first.
