Act 7 database records total numbers are not the same

Note: Personalfiles locations reads - \\Server2\ACTSHARE\DATABASE\Office_1-database files

Startup database reads:  \\Server2\ACTSHARE\DATABASE\Office_1.pad

I check the pad's through notepad and all is pointing to the same database.

I did database maintence rebuilds.

Questions.

How do I fix this where are the pad's located ?

Thanks Best Gary

Question(s)

Where are the Pad's (docket) ? (regarding the work stations)

Where is the Pad (docket) ? (for the file server)

Where are the Adf's (docket) ? (regarding the work stations)

Is there only one database to access ? (which is strictly on the file server)

How should the Pad be worded example of mine is:

(I have this on each work station)

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="no"?>
<!DOCTYPE ACTDatabasePADFile>
<!--This file represents a Pointer to an Act Database or [PAD]-->
<ACTDatabase name="Office_1" host="SERVER2" location="\\Server2\ACTSHARE\DATABASE\Office_1.ADF" type="Sql" />

Re: Act 7 database records total numbers are not the same

The PAD files can be copied anywhere... they are just a pointer to the ACT! database

The ADF (ACT! Database File) will be in the location that shows in the PAD file if you open in Notepad

Are both systems opening the same PAD file?

Re: Act 7 database records total numbers are not the same

Mike thank you for your help, been trying to work this out for two (2) weeks now....

My local work station the pad file reads thus:

<ACTDatabase name="Office_1" host="SERVER2" location="\\server2\ACTSHARE\DATABASE\Office_1.ADF" type="Sql" />

How can I tell which Pad file is being used ?

I am trying to answer your question.
