Re: Act 2013 pro backup

Use the ACT! provided backup. File | Backup | Database. It will include everything and can be setup for auytomatic operations with the ACT! scheduler.

Re: Act 2013 pro backup

Also remember to backup your personal files daily using ACT!  File - Backup - Personal files.

I recommend using http://fillstaff.com/backupfolderspro.html  to store and manage your backups.

Just place the unzipped folder into your ACT! backup folder.   Cheers - FSB

Re: Act 2013 pro backup

What does backup of the personal files contain?   How do we know if we use that portion of the program and it needs to be backed up?    Doesn't look like that part can be automated like the backup of the database correct?

Once you click on File / Backup / Personal files, you will see what items are getting backed up.

I do 3 different backups daily. .

First I backup database

2nd I backup all items included in the Personal Files Backup

3rd I backup Personal files with just the option for Menus and Toolbars ONLY.

I do that in the event I end up having to delete my ACT! Preferences Folder due to occasional corruptness potential.

I use Custom Commands and dislike having to re-create them - so I backup Menus and Toolbars Only.  Smiley Happy

So you should perform Both Database & Personal Files Backups in the event of major or minor catifizm..

Restore a database if it gets corrupt and Restore Personal Files if ACT! setup/settings/preferences gets corrupt.

It is all easily managed using my Backup Folders Pro - http://fillstaff.com/backupfolderspro.html  - cheers - FSB
