Re: Act! 2012 SQL2008 Doesn't start on boot

Have you checked to make sure 'Startup Type' is 'Automatic' and not Disabled or Manual?

If it is Automatic, open the properties for that service and under the Recovery tab - change the 3 failure actions to 'Restart the Service'.  Reboot to test...

Re: Act! 2012 SQL2008 Doesn't start on boot

Yesterday I unistalled Act + SQL 2008, then installed Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 RTM - Express from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=3743 . SQL Installed fine, so I next installed Act!,  This took over 3 hours and the database appeared fine,

This morning SQL is 'stopped' after booting and other users can't access it. I've now spent more than a day trying to install 2012 - any other ideas please?

There's a batch file here: http://kb.sagesoftwareonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/23934 that starts Act!

So far it's working after several reboots, other users can access Act! Without me starting SQL manually.
