Act 2012 Act Address Book

Every time we open Act! 2012 we have to set up the the Act addressbook service as we get the error message that it is not properly configured. Everything is okay but we have to configure the service everytime you go back into the database.

Can anyone help

What version of Outlook are you using?  If it is 2003, it will not close properly and you have to close it from the process tab of the task manager.  Brenda

Re: Act 2012 Act Address Book

Try this;

1; My computer  and on c-drive, rite mouse click, select Properties, tools, error checking/check now to run scan disk on your c-drive, re-boot pc.  Start ACT! first, then outlook2007

Note;

2; At anytime, if Outlook 2007 hangs, or fails to close, go into task masnager and terminate outlook process. Then restart outlook.

If that fails try;

Start , Run, Services.msc and make sure sql server ( act 7 ) is in a status of Started, if not start it?

If that fails,

Start Run, ACT!DIAG

select approp database from list and run the rebuild options, rebuild schema, security etc..

Hope that helps - cheers - fsb

Re: Act 2012 Act Address Book

I had this same problem on my "new" XP laptop. It was showing that error even when I re-configured it through Act! The configuration through Act! showed 2 databases with the correct one marked as the default. I deleted the second database and everything was fine with Act!2012 and Outlook 2010.
