Act 2010 Start Up Issue

For the past little while (month or so) my Act 2010 doesn't seem to start up on my Windows 7 32 bit laptop anymore.   I get the login screen where I type in my login/password, but nothing seem to happen after that.    When I try using Act on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop, it works fine.    Any idea?   Could a recent Windows Update that is automatically downloaded/installed on my laptop have messed up Act 2010 in some way?   I can't think of any other reason why Act 2010 would just stop working after a year of running well.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Pierre,

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. This may be due to a damaged ACT! preferences file on the machine in question. Please see KB Article 14770 for instructions to rebuild preferences. Use the alternate method near the bottom of the article to manually rebuild the file.
