Act 2010 Exiting Act without a field complete

How do i make a field so that it doesnt allow you to leave the program without a certain field having something in it?

basically putting "stops" on , if a field has nothing enterned into it i want it to not allow you to move to the next step.

currently a little exclamation mark apprears if you type something into a field without it being in the drop down box, how do i make it so that you cant move to the next step without having SOMETHING in that box/ ?

The only way would be to create a required field. This can be done by Tools, Define Fields, Then select the field you wish to make mandatory in the list. Choose Edit field.


On the first page of this wizzard deselect the box that says "allow Blank"

This will force users to enter information into this field before leaving a record. I would also sugest changing the color of the field to make it easier for the users do see which fields are required.
