Act! 2009 - slowdowns on a new Vista computer?

I had previously installed Act! 2009 on Windows XP and found it created such a general slowdown of the computer that I chose to remove it.

Now I've got a new Vista computer, and I'm considering giving Act! a try again.  I have read a number of online (user) reviews that say it can have that effect even on new computers.

Have any users here experienced this problem?

Thanks

We've been using ACT! 10 for over a year on Vista and XP  and works great if you have enough Ram and processor.

At least 2+ gig processor and at least 2 gig ram..  Good luck - FSB

Thanks for the reply.

Plenty of memory on the new computer.  It has 4 GB RAM, running Vista Home Premium 64 bit.  Can't remember the processor speed, but it is dual core.
