Act! 2009 causes MS Publisher Installs!

Hi Gang,

This is just Weird!

I've recently installed Act! 2009 on my (several years old) PC which Runs Office 2003.  ACT! is a little slow on my machine, but seems to work fine.  But, since the install, whenever I start an Office application, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.  I get multiple startups of Windows Installer!  It wants to install MS Publisher (which is already installed).  Is there someone out there who has seen this, or can tell me where this script resides, so I can get rid of it?

All help will be appreciated!

Thanks,

Roger

Re: Act! 2009 causes MS Publisher Installs!

Hello Roger,
Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. We have seen this in a specific build of ACT! 2008, but not ACT! 2009. What happens if you let the installer run and complete? May have to do once or twice.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

Re: Act! 2009 causes MS Publisher Installs!

Hi Greig,

Well, now we've seen it in 2009!  I've done as you've suggested.  I located the old OfficeXP CDs (no mean feat!) and let it do its thing.  At the end it caused MS Word to open, for whatever reason.

We'll see if it continues...

Thanks for your response!
