Act 2009 & Outlook Contact Attachments

Problem when adding emails to contacts when filtering by group. The email shows up in all the group histories that the contact belongs to, as opposed to showing up in the contact history and only one group history. We need to add to contact history but filter by group so that the email does not show up in all group histories that have the contact listed.

When you are looking under the History tab for a Group, you should see a Show filter with options to show All, Group, or Group Contacts. If you have this filter set for Group Contacts or All, then you should expect to see the attached emails as it showing the history for the Contacts linked to that Group. If you have this filter set for Group, then you should not be seeing the attached emails.


For clarification, the Group histories and the Contact histories are separate records. Emails can only be attached to Contact history, not Group history. The Group filter in the attach screen merely lets you filter the list of Contacts by a Group so that you can choose all or some of the contacts in a Group, or simply view a shorter list.
