Act 2007 I suddenly cannot open database

I can't open the database in Act 2007.    I get an error message"The database ____ could not be accessed.  IN order to access check network conn.   verify that your database server is avail.   Maybe necessary to disable firewall.

 

The database is on the computer that I am using so no network.    The only thing done before this happened was I downloaded a new version of FIrefox which I have since deleted.

 

I have tried restoring a backup version but get a error message that the backup of this database can ony be restored on the machine that was used to create it.   Tried restore as and still have problems.

 

So right now I am screwed on using ACT.   Can anybody help me get this working again?  Many thanks.
