Act 2007 (9.0) Reinstall Problem

I have just reinstalled Act 2007 (9.0) on an XP machine.

When I went to create my first database, the following message appeared: "Unable to create the database. There is an error connecting to the Microsoft SQL Server."

There also seems to be no Act7 SQL reference.

Any ideas?

This error would seem to indicate the ACT7 instance of SQL is not installed. From your Windows Start menu, choose "Run" and type in services.msc. When you list of Local Services comes up, scroll down and see if SQL Server (ACT7) is in the list.  If it is, then it may be stopped...see if you can start it.  If it is not then it will need to be installed.  See the following Knowledgebase article for instructions to manually create the ACT7 instance of SQL:
