Re: Act 16 Restore As Schema Update Failed Database could not be accessed

Above should read - was ACT originally an earlier version of ACT  before being upgraded to ACT 2011?

Thanks. It was ACT 2009 (v11.1.183.o.Hotfix1) . I'm not sure how to determine which version of sql it is running. It says Server: 'computername"\ACT7 if that sheds any light.

I was updating from ACT 2009 (v11) on one PC to a new PC running windows 10 plus Act v18.

I opened ACtdiag on both machines. The old one running 2009 is SQL server 2005 SP2, and the Win 10 machine is SQL server 2008 Express 64 bit.

ACCT from SQL 2005 should open in SQL 2008 so we need to look for another problem. Can you use ACT diag on the old database and run a repair, then backup again and try restoring again on your new PC.
