Act 11 import from excel

Is there a limit on the number of fields that can be imported from excel to Act 11?

If so - how many?

Also - I'm trying to import multiple contacts from excel into Act 11.0 - only one contact is imported.

Suggestions?

We have not seen a limit to the number of fields that can be exported to Excel.  If only one contact is importing in, then there may be an issue with next record it is hitting.  Make sure there are no invalid characters (non-alphnumeric) in your document and make sure that every record has something in the column for Contact name.

One thing you may also want to check is your datafile.  When you go through the import wizard of the data into Excel, scroll through the rows of what Excel thinks the data are to see if they look like meaningful rows of data.  Check to see that your delimiters are specified correctly (comma/tab).  When one comma or tab is out of sync in the datafile it usually throws the rest off at some point.  You can also scroll through the records in the ACT! import wizard too before actually importing to see if the rows are being delimited properly.  The data looks like it doesn't line up with the right fields is a good indicator of a misplaced delimiter.
