Accessing Notes Tab crashes ACT

Running ACT Pro v17.1 on a server (Shared Database).

Computers running Windows XP.

 

When Accessing the notes tabs for certain contacts: ACT crashes; or the notes crash giving an error " System out of memory exception"; or the notes eventually load after a couple minutes of waiting. Would greatly appreciate any help on how to resolve this issue.

Hi Sandy, 

 

As you mentioned this only happens on certain contacts, if you change the filters (IE: Date range) on the notes before you navigate to the contacts do you receive the error message? It maybe that a single note is corrupted. By using the filters we may narrow down a potential cause.

Please could you let us know what operating system your server is running?

The database is saved on a small business server 2011 but the programme is installed on a windows server 2008 R2.

 

Thanks. Having had a look at that, when notes crash I get the red x across the notes as was talked about in the other thread.

Hi Sandy,

Are you using a terminal server or a Citrix environment?
If so, what is the OS of the server which Act! is running on?

Hi,

 

We are using a Citrix environment, and the OS of the server is windows server 2008 R2 standard edition 64bit

This looks like the issue being dealt with here. Citrix seems particularly affected by a recent MS update.

Sorry for the late reply.

 

Thanks for the advice, by limiting the date range I was able to find the one note which was broken and remove it.
