ACTing very cautiously!

More probems; I just tried to post my problem and it all fell over after "submit". Seems alot around ACT doesn't work as it is meant to, ie easily!

 

I have a one user database in Act 8 on accessed via terminal server on MS Server 2003. Act 8 doesn't integrate properly with Outlook such that Act lock up each time you send an email. Interestingly, the email actually makes it to Outlook and can be sent by doing "send/receive" and Act records activity.

 

Being nervous, I have installed Act 10 on my workstation to not upset the server installation. I saved a copy of my database to the server and my workstation. When I try to open the database using Act 10 from either database location (server or workstation), I get "this database is not shared..........contact your administrator for information". Any ideas on how to fix this?

How did you move the database to you workstation?

 

Try opening the database on your workstation via the adf file.

From within ACT, go to File / Open Database and change the 'Files of type' to .adf
