ACT9:Automatic backup or script to run backup

Dear Gurus, I am looking at ways of backing up ACT 9. At the moment i can only back it up manually. Can anyone help me with a script which i can schedule to run through Scheduled Task to run the backups at 19:00. I know autobackup is in verison 11 and other preminum version but its too expensive to buy.

Re: ACT9:Automatic backup or script to run backup

you could create a simple script to stop the SQL instance

NET STOP MSSQL$ACT7

Use XCOP or backup to backup database and files folder

NET START MSSQL$ACT7 (to restart SQL service)

You could then get scheduler to run the batch file

Re: ACT9:Automatic backup or script to run backup

If you go to Start, run and type the command NET STOP MSSQL$ACT7 then OK this will stop the SQL service

Do you backup with whatever method you want to use

Once it is finished go to Start, Run again and type in NET START MSSQL$ACT7 to restart the SQL service and you can go back to using ACT.

If you are asking to explain how to put it into Windows scheduler I would suggest you look this up in help on your machine as there are many options to doing this and outside the scope in this forum
