ACT2010 Integration with Outlook2007 Update

I am still having an issue with ACT2010 Sync to Outlook 2007 Calendar.

Outlook totally freezes as soon as I do a sync from ACT and requires a Cntrl.

Alt, Del. to cancel Outlook and re-open. All Outlook freezes nothing is active

at all.

However what I did find is if before I run ACT Sync to Calendar I close Outlook,

run the Sync, and then re-open Outlook all Syncs go to Outlook and are visable

in the calendar view. I can use outlook to e-mail from ACT, I can select Inbox, or

Sent Box and view everything, I can delete a message. The only thing I can't do

is if an Alarm pops up in Outlook if I were to Dismiss it or try to set it to snooze

it freezes up as well.

So, if anyone has any ideas as to what would be causing this I would love to hear it.

I have cleared my whole computer and done complete Installs twice in the past 3 wks.

and have not been able to correct this problem.

I rely so much on ACT as a sales rep and have been using ACT for so long that I just

can't see looking for an alternative software. Outlook is great but doesn't allow me to

keep data records like ACT does and if I have to open and close Outlook every time I

need to Sync, it's added time I don't really have and there has to be a way to fix it.

Hope someone can help.

Using Windows XP Professional and all Windows and ACT2010 updates are in my

Laptop.

Thanks,

Glen

I think ACT! sync with Outlook is new for ACT! 2011
Do you mean "copy" to Outlook or are you using something different to do the sync?

Hi Mike,

Yes, I mean copy as in ACT -- Copy calendar now. In ACT2010.

You might want to look at DoubleLook - it keeps ACT! and Outlook in sync all the time w/o doing anything - any changes you make in ACT! show up in Outlook and vice versa - http://www.actaddons.com/products/2005/doublelook.asp

I'd go with 123 Sync over Doublelook.

But the question is ... why are you needing to have the activities in both?

Re: ACT2010 Integration with Outlook2007 Update

Some steps for troubleshooting the issue are:

- Add exceptions to your firewall.  Here is an article with instructions: KB Article 25125

- Test with a different database (ex: create a new database, add a few calendar items, copy to Outlook)
