2- MS SQL Server 2005 is installed.  Serial number prevents access.  Ininstall Sql Server 2005 and use disc 1 to reinstall.  ---I have a later version of SQL Svr 05.. WIll ACT 07 work with newer versions?

Re: ACT2007 v9 won't open

Yes, ACT! 2007 should work fine with the latest version of SQL 2005, which is SP3. Just make sure you have the latest build of ACT! 2007 installed, which is 9.0.1.162.

As for the error you are receiving, this may be a damaged SQL installation or an issue with the database .PAD file. Please see KB Article 19640 for a list of possible causes and solutions for this error.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
