ACT's Forum Notification Emails - Abusive?

This is a good forum, and it is helpful to get email notifications of new posts.

HOWEVER, clicking the link in one of those emails not only brings you to the relevant thread, but also causes Google Toolbar to be installed in your browser.

That, to me, is intrusive and abusive.  If I can't trust ACT's emails not to install unwanted apps on my computers, then I have a trust problem with ACT in general.

What do others think?

Strange... I open links from the notifications emails throughout the day and have never encountered this.  I do not believe we are embedding the install for Google Toobar in our links or Community.

Try changing your default browser and click the link again.  See if Google Toolbar attempts to install on the new browser.  I also suggest running spyware/malware scan on your computer.

Regards,

Well, if it's not the ACT email then I am glad to know that. I deleted the email after clicking the link to the thread and having the Google toolbar install.
