I updated my ACT! by Sage 2008 (10.0) Version 10.0.3.182 but the program INTERMITTENTLY tends to take minutes to perform a function.
If I do not wait it out the program freezes and I have to close and re-open it.
Sometimes I cannot wait it out at all.
Generally if I close and re-open ACT! this sluggishness/crash proneness stops.
Sometimes I have to soft boot to make it work right again.
I use Windows XP.
I daily perform "Check and Repair".
I do NOT have this problem with ANY other programs.
By the way, any suggestion to archive my contacts is unworkable. The reason I use ACT! is to be able to work with my database of customers.
What can be done to have my ACT! program run like it used to two years ago?

Does ACT! freeze when doing certain tasks (ex: viewing calendar)? How often does this happen? Lets see if the issue is database specific or program related. First, try running database maintenance using the actdiag tool. If you're still experiencing the same issue, open the ACT! demo database and try to recreate the problem.
