ACT <> Outlook: COM class factory error 80040154

Hi,

Does anybody knows how can I fix the problem related to following error messagem ?

"Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {741BEEFD-AEC0-4AFF-84AF-4F61D15F5526} failed due to the following error: 80040154"

It happens when I try to write an e-mail message from ACT using Outlook 2003.

Suddenly started to happen today.

Thanks for any help

Re: ACT <> Outlook: COM class factory error 80040154

Try registering redemption.dll

  1. Close ACT! and any Office programs (Word, Outlook, etc...)
  2. Browse to C:\Program Files\ACT\ACT for Windows
  3. Drag and drop Redemption.dll over regsvr32.exe
You'll receive the following message if done correctly:
DllRegisterServer in C:\program files\act\act for web\Redemption.dll succeeded.

I just developed the same sickness and Dvaid's directions took care of it. As much as I appreciate his expertness I can't stop but to question why such errors seem to pop up in ACT! I have another one right now and I just don't have the time to correct it because it involves re-loading the program as well as taking other actions which I feel nervous about. I wish ACT! developers did a better job...

Wow! That was a simple fix. I was in the Sage knowledge base and tried the fix there for the 80040154 which was a convoluted DOS roundabout. Like someone else wrote in this thread - why does this stuff happen "out of the blue"? We did not make any changes to anything. (That's the first thing I always look at when an issue arrises - what did we change?)

ACT 2011 just started this a couple days ago. This worked for me, too. But, why would this happen at all when it's been working?
