ACT is not responding after login

ACT is not responding after login

After i log in to ACT and all my settings etc load, it sits there blankly forever until i eventually close out.  I just installed ACT on 2 new computers with Windows 7 and they are both doing this.  We can still get on to ACT with all the computers that we previously had that are using Windows XP.  What is going on???????

If ACT! opened on the XP machines, but not the Windows 7 machines, this may be due to User Account Control. For instructions to disable UAC in Windows 7, please see the following Knowledgebase article:

Another possible, although less common reason, could be an issue with the Welcome Page (if using ACT! 2011 or 2012). More information is in this KB article:

Ok, this is really wierd...........  Disabling the UAC worked for one computer but not the other.  And i have tried all your other suggestions for the other computer now.  Any other suggestions?????

Try manually rebuilding the preferences file on this machine. Instructions are in the bottom half of this KB article:
