ACT! integration with phones system via analog station

I have read somewhere that the act dialer can use an analog line for outgoing calls. Would this analog line connect to the internal modem of the pc? If so, what is the set up to communicate with the called party?

The ACT! dialer goes through the Windows dialer so you need to find out if the Windows dialer will work in that configuration.

ACT uses the Windows dialer.

To set it up in ACT, go to | Tools | Preferences | Communication | Properties

Here you will set up such things as dialing a digit to get an outside line, area code rules, etc.  Click save and OK...

You will also see a button for "Setup" but that should already be filled in from the information provided by the OS when the modem was installed.

Hope this helps.

Re: ACT! integration with phones system via analog station

Thanks, that is what I needed to get the configuration set up. So, how will a call get connected once the call button is clicked? Will I need to have an analog phone plugged into the modem also, and just pick up the handset once the call is established?
