Here is my dilema. My department is branching away from the main company to a division of it's own. Can I take specific contacts from the current database and import them into a new database that I want to create for our division? For example, if I have contacts that are linked to companies, will that information transfer as well? I just want to make sure that all information linked to that contact imports into the new database. I don't want to lose any information. Currently I'm on version 10.0.
Also, as an administrator can I delete history?

Always Backup your act! databases daily and before to special task.
Assuming you have permission;
From your existing act db, you can create a new empty act! database
Save Copy as
Select; Blank Copy
After that is successful, from your initial db you can lookup the desired contact/company records and perform EXPORT into your new empty database.
You will be ask if you wish to include company records also during the export process.
You will be asked what database name to export to. etc..
