ACT error message: "The Explorer has been closed..."

For some reason, when I start up Outlook, I get an ACT error message that says: "The Explorer has been closed and cannot be used for further operations. Review your code and restart Outlook." When I restart Outlook, I get the same message again.

I have ACT! 2008 and Outlook 2007. Anybody have any ideas? Thank you.

Make sure you have the Inbox set as your start page in Outlook and not "Outlook Today"

It's a bug in the Outlook API

Re: ACT error message: "The Explorer has been closed..."

Hi,

I got the same error while using Outlook (as opposed to when opening Outlook).  I had scheduled a meeting and moved to the Outlook Today screen.  When I restarted Outlook I received the error "Operation failed".  I clicked ok, launched Outlook again and it started up.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Inbox checked.

However, even if I simply click on Outlook's "Today" button, it causes the error message to appear.

Frankly, I like the appearance of the "Today" screen, as it consolidates everything & gives me a look downfield at upcoming stuff on my calendar.

Is there a solution?

It's a bug in Outlook... all products that integrate with Outlook have this issue if the Outlook start screen is set to Today

So, functionality of the Today screen will not be an option until that time when Microsoft resolves the issue?

Has the company advised when customers might expect an update to correct the flaw?

Thanks.
