Whenever an e-mail is generated by clicking on the email icon in ACT, be that to an individual or a Group, ACT crashes. The email though is generated. This crash does not happen when emails are generated in Outlook and ACT simply picks up the record.
Is this a new problem following a 'helpful' Windows update? Or has something for some reason gone wrong with the ACT program? It isn't happening on the desktop - just the laptop.
Using
Act! Pro Version 18.0.501.0, Update 7
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.14393 Build 14393
Microsoft Office and Home Business 2016
Version 1705 Build 8201.2102

Hi Tim,
Thank you for providing the version information.
The issue you are experiencing is due to an update with Office 2016 Build 8201 and a file that they have added which goes by the same name as one of our own this causes a conflict when attempting to integrate with Outlook. The resolution to this issue is to rename the file from Act's Program directory.
Ensure Act and Outlook are closed.
Open Windows File explorer and navigate to one of the locations below:
64-bit OS
Act! Pro or Act! Premium: C:\Program Files (x86)\ACT\Act for Windows
Act! Premium (access via web): C:\Program Files (x86)\ACT\Act for Web
32-bit OS
Act! Pro or Act! Premium: C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows
Act! Premium (access via web): C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Web
Find the file name ‘Adal.dll’ (it may be required to Show extensions for know file types) rename the file to ‘Adal.old’
Open Act and Outlook and test.
More information regarding this issue can be found here: 38791 Email systems window is empty if Build 8201 of Office 2016 is installed
