I installed ACT Premium 2013 about 9 months ago. Database exists on a server that I access from our network. Running Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 - integrated so that emails would be saved in the contact record.
A couple of weeks ago ACT simply wouldn't open and Outlook started having indexing problems. Also started getting SearchProtocolHost.exe - application errors as pop ups every 10 minutes or so. The only change that I have made to his machine was the addition of some registry clean up software. I have renmoved it, but the problem seems to remain. Still can't start ACT.

It's possible that the registry cleanup software may have damaged the installation of the Act! program. Depending on if you're getting any error messages when trying to open Act!, it may be necessary to uninstall and reinstall Act!. If you are getting error messages when trying to launch Act!, I'd recommend searching for them in our knowledgebase at http://kb.swiftpage.com/
If you aren't receiving any error messages, I'd recommend attempting an uninstall and reinstall.
