My customer is experiencing technical difficulties beyond my control - ACT V18 locks up when adding a relationship. Is this a known problem? If not, can it be a known problem now that can be resolved? Thank you. FSBill

Tell them to stop adding relationships! Just kidding. Couldn't resist. I would start by running the maintenance routines inside Act! if that doesn't work you'll probably need to send the database in to database services. I haven't heard of that issue and one of my clients uses relationships extensively.

Hey Stan, Thanks. He has already tried all the usual ACTDIAG options, including the db rebuild options.
All was well until he upgraded to v18.. from v16?
I think this will be another one of those Known Problems soon?
So listen up Swiftpage and please investigate. Customer = C. Werley.. Just bringing it to your attention and Thank you. - FSBill
PS; I am recommending the customer perform a File / Save Copy as to create a new v18 db..

My client is actually running Act! v17.2 so I can't say for sure that relationships work flawlessly in Act! v18.

It could be a resolution thing. Is he also missing the ellipsis/3 dots after the Company name? If so check to see if he had changed the Windows default font size to large and reduce it. The good news is that if that does the trick you can set the font size back again without affecting Act.

Currently waiting to hear back from customer to see if the File / Save Copy as option worked. I had also suggested he delete his preferences prior to that.
Will report back when solution is determined. Thanks for the assist to date.
