Re: ACT V11 Database issue

Hi Fred,

There is a similar error that we're aware of, and is documented in the following knowledgebase article: http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/28141
It would be worth trying the solution from this article and testing if this solves the issue.

Please let us know how you get on.

Re: ACT V11 Database issue

Hello Gary,

thank you for your answer.

Unfortunatly the knowledgebase article does not work for us. Our Act runs on an mssql 2005 Server hostet on a 2008R2 Server.

Is it possible to migrate the database to mssql 2008r2?

Or is it possible to get access to the database, to repair it manually?

Regards

Fred

Re: ACT V11 Database issue

Hi Fred,

In that case, the database is likely damaged and would require the assistance from our database repair services team. You can find more info on this service in the following Knowledgebase article: http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24758

It is possible to access the database though SQL Management Studio, however this is not supported by our technical support team, and will require that you have your SA password. This can be obtained by running the attached utility.

It is also possible to upgrade your Act database to a later version of Microsoft SQL, however this will also require an upgrade of Act, and I would not suggest attempting an upgrade on a damaged database.
You can see what versions of SQL are compatible with various version of Act here: http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/29767
