Check and Repair being grayed out can come from 2 reasons:
1. You are running Act! on a Vista/Win7 computer and need to run the Act! program 'As Administrator'. To do this: close Act! > right click on Act! icon > select 'Run As Administrator'. Then run Check and Repair, and attempt to sync.
2. Your Act! username does not have sufficient authority. You can have an Administrator of the database sign onto your remote and attempt the Check and Repair, and attempt to sync.
When connected to the VPN, can you access the main computer (CAGBGSRV) directly (not through Act!)? Browse to it through your Network places or the My Computer/Computer icon?

In response to your questions..
- I am running Windows XP.
- I will have to call my network tech and get the password to run as an administrator.
Also, I am able to access the main database through the VPN.
